Welcome to 2020!

I hope that you all had a good summers break, spent it in company of people that you like and love, but also had a chance to recharge.

Our December 2019 mixer saw us at Shakespeare Hotel and Brewery – thank you to all who attended and a thank you to the organisers. This mixer was our end of year get-together and also end of a decade. I know for myself the end of the decade didn’t have magnitude until the New Year came round. It was good to have a change with entertainment from Lori and Penny — two rogue naughty elves from Santa’s workshop, sent for training at Conartists.co.nz. If anyone wishes to book them for any entertainment for an event they are well worth investigating!

Join Rainbow Auckland's BBQ mixer with our sister organisation Rainbow New Zealand Charitable Trust who have three main grant envelopes available each year, open for individuals and organisations:
  • Tertiary Scholarships
  • Community Support
  • Community Development

I am looking forward to what 2020 holds for all of us. This with Rainbow Auckland but also personally for all. Auckland Pride Festival is right around the corner (1-16 February), go to www.aucklandpride.org.nz to find out OurMarch, OurParty, The Ending HIV Big Gay Out or about any of the 154+ events that are going on! Also go to www.rainbowprideakl.org.nz to find out more information of the Rainbow Pride Auckland's walking parade on Feb 29, 5:30 – 7:00pm. You can volunteer, donate or just support by attending.

Again an exciting new network for New Zealand’s Rainbow communities has launched,
Rainbow Directory! Rainbow Auckland also have been privileged to a behind-the-scenes look off a new service to strengthen networking New Zealand’s Rainbow communities, businesses and services in major centres and our regions!
RA have signed a partnership with Rainbow Directory where we will receive a 10% kick-back to our coffers, for all RA members who join this service.

I look forward to meeting you all and additional others from the wider community. If you yourself have a contact in an organisation you feel we can connect with please tell us. We are always on the lookout.
